ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to evaluate media ethics and professionalism in Nigerian journalism practices using channels television. Specifically, the study examine the extent to which unethical practices are prevalent in Nigerian journalism, investigate the factors contributing to unethical behavior among Nigerian journalists and evaluate the adequacy of journalism education and training programs in fostering ethical and professional standards among journalists. A total of 30 responses were validated from the survey. From the responses obtained and analyzed, the findings revealed that the extent to which unethical practices are prevalent in Nigerian journalism is high. The study hereby recommend that Journalists should be transparent enough on their findings and reporting in order to be credible before the general public. Also, ethics of journalism should be uphold by all media houses, this include private and government media houses.
